We hire only the most confident and competent sonographers to care for you and your family. All of our staff are registered through the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) in abdominal, obstetrical/gynecology, and vascular.
These credentials make sure that your sonographer graduated from an accredited college, was able to pass all board exams understanding normal and abnormal ultrasound, and maintains his or her skills by continuing medical education. You can be assured that your sonographer is knowledgeable and is proficient in patient care.

Diagnostic ultrasounds are medical imaging exams performed with a provider’s order and interpreted by a radiologist. These scans are used to evaluate symptoms, monitor pregnancy, or assess organs and anatomy and are considered a legal, medical document.
Elective, or Non-diagnostic ultrasounds, are elective keepsake experiences designed for bonding and viewing your baby in 2D/3D/4D. These sessions are not intended to diagnose or evaluate medical conditions and do not replace care from your healthcare provider.
-
Yes. Since a diagnostic ultrasound is a legal medical document/exam, a provider’s order is required before you schedule an appointment. Once the exam is performed, a board licensed radiologist will interpret the images and send a diagnostic report back to your provider.
-
No! Elective (non-diagnostic) 2D/3D/4D ultrasounds do not require a provider’s order.
-
We ask every patient to complete the appropriate forms before their ultrasound because the type of ultrasound you are receiving determines what information and consent we are required to obtain. These forms help protect you, your health information, and our practice while making sure everyone understands the purpose and limitations of the ultrasound. You MUST fill out these forms prior to your appointment. Ultrasound will not be completed before forms are filled out.
1. Elective Pregnancy 2D/3D/4D Ultrasound
Our elective pregnancy ultrasounds are designed to provide you with an opportunity to view your baby in 2D, 3D, or 4D. This is a non-diagnostic service and is not a substitute for prenatal care or a medical ultrasound.
Before receiving an elective pregnancy ultrasound, you will be asked to acknowledge that:
You understand that this ultrasound is not a medical examination or diagnostic ultrasound and is not intended to diagnose or rule out any medical condition.
You have established care with an OB/GYN or other qualified prenatal healthcare provider, or have a medical ultrasound appointment scheduled with your provider as appropriate.
You understand that any medical concerns or questions about your pregnancy should be addressed with your prenatal healthcare provider.
You may choose whether or not to give us permission to use your ultrasound images and/or videos for marketing and social media purposes, such as our website, Instagram, TikTok, or other promotional materials. Your permission is optional.
2. Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
Diagnostic medical ultrasounds are different from elective ultrasounds because they are part of your medical care and become part of your medical record. We are required to obtain specific information and consent before performing your examination.
The required forms ensure that you:
Consent to the diagnostic ultrasound examination.
Understand your rights regarding the privacy and protection of your health information under HIPAA.
Understand that the ultrasound and related information are part of your medical record.
Have a valid order for the examination from an authorized healthcare provider, such as a physician, nurse practitioner (NP), physician assistant (PA), midwife, or other qualified provider, as applicable.
Understand that the medical information you provide, along with the ultrasound images and findings, will be provided to the radiologist for interpretation.
Understand that the radiologist's report will be sent to the healthcare provider who ordered your examination to assist with your ongoing medical care.
Our goal is to make the process as clear and comfortable as possible. Completing these forms allows us to make sure you understand what type of ultrasound you are receiving, what to expect, how your information will be handled, and what your rights are before your examination.

Drinking a lot of water throughout your pregnancy and increasing the water intake 3-5 days prior to your appointment will help with baby’s movement. Hydration will help with obtaining the best images possible!
Having a light, healthy snack or a small glass of juice 20 to 30 minutes before your appointment will help as well!

Ultrasound is considered safe for you and your baby during pregnancy as well as for anyone using it for diagnostic purposes. The technology uses sound waves with NO radiation to create the images.
The FDA and AIUM continually research the changing technologies and keep the regulatory intensities low in order to maintain the safety of our ultrasound machines!
